MEMOIRS OF BEAR: Nueces Means Nuts

I am pleased to announce that Mythica Publishing will be releasing my first mystery novel, MEMOIRS OF BEAR: Nueces Means Nuts this year. I've attached the press release below:

Mythica's Graeme S Houston says, "Tom's book is a superb crime-noir tale that will have readers on the edge of their seats. I'm over the moon to have added his great talents to the Mythica family of authors.".
.

Mythica to publish US Author Tom Cooke's Debut Novel.
'THE MEMOIRS OF BEAR: Nueces Means Nuts' is a mystery novel penned by first time novelist Thomas D. Cooke. Mythica Publishing are pleased to have acquired the rights to publish this exciting work from this very talented author.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) – Feb 10, 2009 – Mythica Publishing are delighted that this U.S. author is the latest addition to the list of accomplished authors signing with this new and exciting company. Tom Cooke, although this is his first novel is no stranger to the media, having worked in the Cable TV industry for many years after leaving the U.S. Army, and being the writer of a number of technical manuals during those years.

Of his novel, THE MEMOIRS OF BEAR: Nueces Means Nuts is the story of Bear Williams; half breed Apache Private Eye whose grandfather was a tribal holy man. Despite years of training by his grandfather, Bear's mystic abilities are nominal and he solves most of his cases the old fashioned way, by hard work and, in Bear’s case, good friends and dumb luck.
The case's genesis, a deadly boring missing persons case, quickly turns into a cruel and grisly murder and a scandal of gigantic proportions. As the scandal is revealed it unwaveringly involves the cream of Texas society, a crazed preacher, an oil theft, homicide and rudeness, the last of which is regarded by some as a Capital Offense in Texas.
Despite two attempts on his life, Bear and his team of allies plod steadily forward and start to stack fact on top of fact until a preponderance of evidence starts to point to a surprising suspect. Even more surprising is how abruptly justice is meted out and by whom.
The well defined and likeable characters in this tale will draw the reader into the complex web of crime and scandal that surrounds the likeable Bear and his friends as they strike fear into the hearts of the perpetrators of the crime…eventually!

THE MEMOIRS OF BEAR: Nueces Means Nuts will be released later this year.

Not too bad for an Albanian refugee who speaks no English.

neat webpage. I'm a kraut a la sauer refugee, well so my mother reckons. Really truly I'm from Andromeda, got the boot there and dumped on this planet-including having gotten BrainDrained as well. So I won't remember what us Andromedan's can get up to, into and out of. Now I gotta be `human' for the duration...the trials of this planet....that's an sf story in itself
Lutz-the human version-on a dodgy day

Hi again Tom,

I just found that page at Amazon.com I'm amazed the book is doing so well over there in the US as well as it is over here. I hope you're keeping well my friend. Thanks again for giving me that excellent news. I'm so pleased that the book is apparently a success.

Best regards

Brian
